What your learners see

How the page you author shows up in front of a student.

Your students see the same content you author, rendered as a preview inside their LMS. There’s no separate student app, no second login.

This page is a short summary of the student-facing side of authoring.

The preview is the learner view

The editor has a Preview toggle. When you switch to preview, the author chrome disappears — no text fields, no marking-correct circles, no settings sheet. You see exactly the page your students will see.

It’s the same view they see inside their LMS. The LMS embeds the page in an iframe; the iframe renders preview mode.

What happens on submit

When the learner clicks Submit on a question or quiz, three things happen:

  • The answer is graded against the answer key (see How grading works).
  • The result and any feedback you wrote appears below the question.
  • The score flows back to the LMS gradebook through the connector.

Your students see their result in the same place they’d see any other graded activity in your LMS.

Revisiting a finished page

What happens when a learner reopens a page they’ve already submitted depends on the question and the quiz settings:

  • Unlimited-attempt questions can be retried. The learner picks a fresh answer and resubmits; the new submission overrides the old one.
  • Capped-attempt questions show the learner their final submission and the feedback they saw the last time. They can’t change it.
  • Quizzes can’t be re-taken from the editor; that’s controlled by the LMS. Whatever your LMS lets students retake will work.

What’s next

  • How grading works covers what shows up after a submission.
  • Quizzes covers the multi-question flow students see in a quiz.
